Deadbolt on door was impossible to lock due to wrong striker plate being installed. Security latch mounted to door frame was loose and flexing so that it would not be secure. Ceramic tile in entry and bath was broken in several places with grout missing and edges chipped in numerous places. Room had a moldy musty smell and before checkout noticed mold on wall paper border above bed. Have pics to document.

This hotel is right off the seawall. You can walk across the street and be on the sand. The rooms are nice and clean. They could use some basic maintenance such as chipped tile, peeling paint etc. Nothing that would take away from the functionality or comfort. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The elevator could use some maintenance as well. Now let me get to our favorite part: Robert at the front desk. From the minute we walked in he was pleasant and helpful. He was available to assist with any missing details. His demeanor was friendly and he was happy to help. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place close to the water in Galveston. And tell Robert when you see him, we will be back soon.

My truck was broken into while parked in the only lighted area of the parking area. The security cameras in the area haven't been working for a long time. I was not notified that my vehicle had been broken into by the hotel staff who knew about the break in. Had to go to the front desk many times for clean towels. The Covid pandemic is over, the hotel industry needs to get back to work providing the standard services expected by their guests. Aside fron the parking area lighting not working, one of the two elevators was very shaky for a couple of seconds when stopping, scaring the heck out of many of the guests. The lighting and elevator have been in this condition for several months. We will not stay here again !

Staff were very friendly and professional. Breakfast was good as well. Room 226 needs to have the AC unit checked out as it produces a loud vibrating noise when the compressor turns on. Difficult to sleep. Carpet needs to be shampooed as the room smells like spilt beer when you enter the room. Needs a nightlight in the bathroom. Bathroom exhaust fan did not work making excessive condensation in the bathroom after showering. Our room door key stopped working on 2nd day. Had to go get it reprogramed at the front desk.

Rooms need to be deep cleaned

The carpets in the room definitely need a deep cleaning. In the morning the cleaners need to be more considerate of people sleeping. They kept talking for like an hour in the hallway about what they were going to be eating for lunch break. I told one of the receptionist and she said that it wasn’t cleaners but they didn’t know I had a family member staying in the same floor and they also told me they heard cleaners all morning talking and they definitely sounded like housekeepers. I won’t be staying here again.

No towels in the room when we got there and no one to bring us any, had to go get our own. Floors were warped, felt like we were going to fall thru the floor. Tub didn’t drain, standing wayer after just a couple of minutes. Floors were also filthy.

The room smelled like mildew. The toilet was constantly running water. One of the lights in the room wouldn't turn off. Im pretty sure therewere blood stains on the floor. The only plus side was the front desk guy was really nice.
