We stayed in room 318 at the Tamarac in n Fort Lauderdale. The room is in terrible condition. Walls patched. Broken fixtures. The mattresses and pillows were also horrible. Overwhelming air freshener smell at check in. Stale smell after it wore off. The hallways look like they hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks. I’ve stayed in many different La Quintas and never had an experience like this one. In my opinion, it needs to be torn down and rebuilt.

Omg i wouldn't recommend this place ever. I first had a rude person on the desk found out i was at the wrong place. But it was the address i had. Then we look at another email and the location came up different. I feel very let down. 70 dollars on a cab or uber each way to the port.

Hallway and Room smelled like mold and mildew. My eyes started to burn, and my wife started to cough. We went to front desk let them know about it and that we couldnt stay here. Dawson was working the front desk and he was professional. He said he canceled the room but we needed Expedia to process a refund. I contacted Expedia and they said they couldn't get thru to the front desk. Asked me to contact Expedia later on. Not a good experience. I wouldnt recommend this hotel.

We were initially placed in Room 102, where the carpet was soaked due to a leak. I went to the front desk to report the issue, and I was asked if I wanted to stay while maintenance was called. I requested to be moved instead. We were then relocated to Room 202, which also had a leak—the bathroom floor was saturated with water. I called the front desk again to report this, but no alternative room was offered. I was told they would note the issue for maintenance. Overall, this experience was very disappointing, especially being moved from one leaking room to another without a proper resolution.

If I could give this place a negative review I would. This was a horrible experience from beginning to end. I booked a king room with a couch for a quick in and out trip for me and my friends. We arrived around 4:20 for check in which was at 4:00. We were informed by a very rude front desk attendant by the name of Colleen that our room wasn’t ready and wouldn’t be for an hour. This was a great inconvenience as we had an event that we needed to attend which was the whole point of our trip. Nonetheless, we leave and come back in said hour. She informs us that the room is still not ready but I can get the check in completed in the meantime. I explained that all of that had already been completed online beforehand and she says there’s no point to do that because it needs to be done in person. Why would I receive an email and text message to complete the early check in from the hotel if I have to do it all again upon arrival. Colleen lacked compassion and empathy especially for someone working in hospitality. She was on her cell phone texting while she should have been helping us. When I said it doesn’t seem like she’s trying to accommodate us she stated that she isn’t. Needless to say we canceled the room and left because what person in there right mind would spend money to be treated that way. I was charged some miscellaneous additional $150 for the room which makes absolutely no sense bc it was prepaid. When asked about that amount she lied and said it was refunded to my card.
