Solid choice in great neighborhood
I’ll try to break this down the best I can.
The good:
- The location was excellent. The Santo Spirito neighborhood was just a ten minute walk to all major attractions but a welcome reprieve from the tourist crowds. Tons of places to eat, drink and shop through the little backstreets.
- the space was accommodating. Full kitchen, washer, ironing board and clothes rack. Although we did not cook here, you easily could. The bathroom was a good size.
- the patio area is lovely and the building felt very secure
- the host was prompt
- good water pressure and temp
- plenty of outlets/lights
- good wifi
- ground floo
The areas that could improve:
- the flat smells pretty rough. It’s like a strong body odor mainly coming from the wardrobe area. Possible a previous tenant. But in our four nights, this persisted.
- I’m not sure the AC works. There is a ‘central’ AC but it did not seem to function, at least not well. There is a small, portable dehumidifier but it will only work when plugged into the kitchen outlet which prohibits use of the drawers where it’s plugged in.
- the cleaning was not the best. It was pretty dusty and there were areas of mildew/mold.
- furniture is just a bit ‘used’ feeling. Obviously it is, but the mattress, pillows and linens weren’t great as far as comfort.
- the shower door would easily come off the glass track - probably an easy fix.
Would I stay here again? Yes. Just know that you’re staying for the location and the layout.
