Smelled of mold, broken tv remote

Stayed overnight during a long road trip. I walked into the room and was immediately hit with a strong smell of mold/mildew and the room was just very damp like a leaky basement. The carpet was very damp. The deadbolt for the door was coming apart. The tv remote also didn’t work so the tv was stuck on whatever channel it was already on and I couldn’t change it. The water tasted like mold when I brushed my teeth. I would not stay here again.

It was quiet. Rooms aren’t the cleanest I’ve seen, general up keeping of clean floors and beds were there. The room hasn’t been dusted in a long time, ceiling is falling apart, there is a musty smell of either a prior water leak or covering up smoking smell, window screens are dented. Security is poor. Anyone can just walk into the hotel, no room key is required to enter the building. Television doesn’t offer to login to any aps so if you have little ones there’s not a lot to offer for them to watch. Bathroom has ventilation issues and if you needed to give a child a bath the tub would have needed a good srub first.

We stayed here a week. The staff here was accessible & would take care of any request promptly. The bed was comfortable. They have a very nice breakfast. There was always 2 hot dishes at breakfast such as bacon; eggs; saugage; potato, peppers, & saugage scramble; & biscuits with sausage & gravy along with all the other breakfast fixings. The swimming pool & hot tub were nice & very clean. There are several restaurants nearby. You can easily walk to some if you wanted. We enjoyed our stay.

When I checked in, the woman at the desk handed me the room key with the internet password in it. Gave no indication that there was a known problem. I got to my room, discovered it didn't work, asked the front desk, and was given the least believable excuse that it was being worked on. So I'm stuck in a hotel after two days on the road, unable to work and needing to. Absolutely unacceptable.
