Nice hotel for a stop on the road

Nice hotel for a stop on the road. A bit far from restaurants, but really good for a one-night stay while traveling. Free and very complete breakfast. Clean and comfortable room. However, the exterior cleanliness leaves something to be desired: many cigarette butts and trash left by travelers on the grounds. We traveled with our dog, and he was welcome

We had a question about the charge to our credit card at checkout. When we approached the front desk speaking English, the man behind the desk ignored us (we think because we were speaking English) and we had to try to get his attention. When he actually acknowledged us, we explained the situation and he growled at us and said “so what do you want me to do about it?” This is unacceptable behaviour from someone in the hospitality industry. We won’t be back.

Property may need some outer sprucing up but overall our experience was excellent. One night stay while travelling through to Nova Scotia. Room was comfortable and staff were great. Morning breakfast that was included was the best that we’ve had. Good job, Thank you.

Everything was great but 3 things: fridge was off so it defrosted and smelled of wet. One parking lot light was out when we came in late so walking was iffy and the patio door opens for fresh air, but there were so many spiders and webs I would never open.

Room was clean and actually quite big, but note there are no elevators and you have to climb a quite long double set of stairs while dragging your baggage. Hard stop for anyone with any kind of mobility issue.

The hotel itself is good. Showing age a bit. There is literally nothing close by. They do have some frozen food available, and a few restaurants will deliver, but all the restaurants are 6km north up the highway. Ground floor rooms make it easy to unload and load your vehicle.
