Room could have been a tad cleaner. The floors / elevators in the hotel need a good scrubbing. Also someone needs to empty the cigarette dispenser outside the front door. Very unsightly. The staff was friendly. Not a lot amenities. Continental breakfast was sparse. Yogurt and an assortment of breads and hotel cereal. And it’s a no frills hotel…. And served its purpose.
Excellent experience overall. Luggage storage provided for us to leave our bags early before check in. 24/7 drinks and charging station at the restaurant on the main floor very convenient. Room wasn’t big but wasn’t small, was comfortable amount of space. Only small garbage can in bathroom in room. Room gets humid due to lack of ventilation and ac/fan turns off when you leave the room. Good lights and ac/heat system.
The location is great, close to royal mile but away from a lot of foot traffic so the rooms were quiet. Check in and checkout was smooth. The wifi didn't work at all for 2 out of 3 days of my trip, and the room I had didn't have good mobile signal either, so I had no internet at all.
The room smelled musty but was mostly comfortable. I was given no instructions at all during check-in and discovered on my own that they have free coffee and tea on the ground floor for everyone. I appreciate the sustainability effort of not washing the towels every single day, but it would have been useful to have two bath towels in the bedroom instead of just the one.
Overall was an ok stay!
