We have stayed at the Comfort Inn West in Duluth countless times over the last 30+ years. It has been our "go to" place to stay in Duluth. In the past we have always been very satisfied with our stays there. This time, after check-in, when we went to our room, we found the door propped open. We checked with a housekeeping person who went to the front desk to ask about it. Another person was sent to check the room. She went in with a cleaning cloth, while we waited in the hall. After a few minutes she came out and said the room is fine. I asked why the door was propped open, and she said probabl so someone could verify that it had been cleaned!? When we went into the room, we found hair in and around the bathtub. We informed the front desk person who then assigned us a different room (at the very end of the second floor hallway). We brought our things into that room. When we later went to use the bathroom, we found urine stains around the toilet rim and on the floor around the toilet. We ended up going to a store and buying Clorox wipes to clean the toilet and floor. In the morning, we were also very disappointed with the breakfast. In the past the breakfast has been very good. It seems that the standards at this hotel are no longer what they have been for many years.

The room was very clean and comfy beds. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Shuttle option for Bentleyville was a huge plus for our group. Loved the fact they had dairy alternatives for breakfast for drink options.

Room was nice and clean. The bed in the room was a bit lower (we stayed in a handicap accessible room) which was WONDERFUL. The room was located in a quiet area which was nice. The staff at the desk were very courteous and helpful.

There were dried old boogers on our shower curtain, the fan for the AC/heat unit squealed all night so we had to just turn it off, there was a puddle of water around the ac unit and floor, there was dust all over the room. The schedule they gave me for Bentleyville was completely incorrect and the shuttle did not correlate to any of the times they had printed so we were stuck waiting outside since the bus left 11 minutes earlier than the time stated. The pillows and bed were the most uncomfortable I’ve ever had. Would never stay there again and I would tell anyone that visits to make sure not to stay there. And staff did not care at all.

Rooms are fine. Shower head is low for me and no hand held but then I am 6'4". Only problem was the on line reservation sent the wrong name, correct address, and the wrong number of days. Then billed me for a three day stay and I was only there for one. Took a while to sort it out.
