This one-bedroom suite is built into a historic church manse next to a historic Gothic-style stone church. Both buildings have been restored over many years. Looking out the windows, you can see the breathtaking view of the stone church's stone walls, bell tower, and stained glass window.
The sunroom off the bedroom is separated by barn doors and creates a separate room. An additional futon full-sized bed is available. There is also a child's futon bed for any additional young guests. Please inform us if you require the additional bed(s) set up. Advance notice is appreciated and required.
The modern kitchen is well stocked and the raised solid wood plank counter creates a lovely nook for morning coffees, meals or space for remote work with large Easterly facing windows.
Art workshops are available next door at the Artmakers Studio where you can learn stained glass art, Chinese traditional ink painting and calligraphy, painting and print-making. You can book your workshop or lessons online at Artmakers Studio, Perth.
If you enjoy the outdoors, you can ask us about borrowing our Provincial Park Pass to explore nearby trails, beaches and historic sites. You can ask us about borrowing our kayaks or canoes. The boat launch to the lake and river is a short walk from our home. Advance notice is required to ensure we are home and can help you with arrangements. We are always happy to share our favorite spots to paddle and explore out in the bay and lake.
We live in the main house of the manse and are always available if you need anything or if you are interested in what we love most about our community as well as some of the best kept local secrets to explore and to enjoy.
Private entrance to the private Guest Suite next to the main house. You have the entire place to yourself. This includes, a kitchen, bedroom, living room/sun room and en-suite bathroom.
Perth is known as Ontario's Prettiest Little Town while Smiths Falls' Heritage and Train Museums are popular.
For outdoor enthusiasts, Foley Mountain, Murphys Point Provincial Park, Perth Wildlife Reserve, Beveridge Lock Station and Trail, and Rideau Ferry Yacht Club Beach are some local favorite.
A very special local swimming hole is the 'Flat Rock' located on Noonan Side Road.
