Cheap flights to Peru

Peru has many things to offer the vacationing family, from waterskiing and championship competitions to exploring ancient sites such as Machu Picchu. The country is also home to one of the most mysterious locales on the planet, the Nazca Jumana lines. Other areas such as Manu National Park and Lake Titicaca provide shelter for wildlife and host record numbers of total species in a single location. Camping is also an attractive activity as guests rest near glaciers that are thousands of years old.

Getting Around

The country has many international airports to choose from when visitors fly to Peru. Inca Manco Capac International Airport (JUL) is near Lake Titicaca in the south, while Cap. FAP Victor Montes Arias International Airport (TYL) is in the north near Consecion de Conservacion Nature and Culture mountain ranges.

Although the country itself isn't exceptionally wide, it's almost three times the distance long along the South American edge facing the Pacific Ocean. Travel around Peru is relatively easy by rental car and most major attractions are accessible by main road. However, there are areas where you may have to hike in order to get to the locale, such as the short trek to Machu Picchu. Areas like the Nazca lines may require a more stable vehicle.

Hints and Tips

Ancient civilizations, geoglyphs and monolithic temples are just some of the things a family can explore. The high temperatures for Peru remain between 65 and 69 degrees Fahrenheit, while the lows can reach just above freezing during the summer.
