Drive to the Colonial city of Leon and stroll down cobblestone streets, or go boarding down the side of the Cerro Negro volcano. Hike to the top of the Masaya crater at night or learn surfing at San Juan del Sur. Granada also remains popular for its array of historic 17th century buildings and hidden courtyards.

Getting Around

A visit to the small community of El Castillo includes a trip up a hill to explore the 17th century Spanish fort, known as El Castillo de la Inmaculada Concepciòn de Maria. The expansive site was constructed as a defense against pirates.
