Disappointing Stay at SummerPlace Inn Destin My recent stay at SummerPlace Inn in Destin was a letdown, far from relaxing. Issues from check-in to housekeeping made it frustrating, despite a few positives. Day one started poorly: The receptionist gave me a noisy 2nd-floor room facing the road. Traffic kept me awake, so I requested a switch. She acknowledged it but did nothing, leaving me stuck with the noise throughout. Housekeeping was unprofessional. I called for new towels; they left the old ones. Followed up with reception—she promised a callback but never did or sent towels, so I couldn’t shower for my last 2 days. Basic standards ignored. Breakfast was okay, with a friendly, attentive staffer bringing fresh items as needed—a nice contrast. Overall, I don’t recommend it. Convenient location, but poor handling of rooms, housekeeping, and follow-up made it stressful. Look elsewhere for reliable service.

We stayed there for 7 days. The only glitch was the fact that the elevator was out when we first got there. The front desk tried its best to get us on the 1st floor, since my 87 year young mother was with us, the best was the second floor. However, there was a staff member who helped us carry luggage up the stairs and then help my mother up the stairs while my sister and I finished with the luggage. I wish I had gotten her name, but unfortunately didn't. Staff checked and cleaned rooms every day. A wonderful place to stay.

Check in was pleasant, the clerk was helpful and kind. Our room left a lot to be desired. It wasn’t very clean, hairs in the shower, stains on the sheets and the door didn’t close properly. The door was concerning as we were two women traveling alone.

Our room was clean, nicely decorated and a comfortable bed. The outdoor pool is not heated, so by the first week of October it's a little cool. The deck around the exterior pool could use pressure washing, and the 2 metal tables are rusted and should be replaced. The included breakfast is only fair. The eggs tasted gritty like they were from powdered eggs. There was only 1 waffle maker which caused a wait to make our waffle. The only bread options were white bagels and white sliced bread. There's 2 types of cold cereal available and instant oatmeal envelopes. There was not any yogurt avaliable. Coffee was decent. There's only 2 ice machines, on the 2nd and 4th floors. The front desk staff was nice. The location is next to The Track, which is a go cart track and other amusement things. I don't think I would stay here again since there's a lot of choices in the area.

Room was nice staff was good. The big problem was the elevator was brokeen the whole trip and we was on the 4th floor. My wife has trouble goimg up stairs. But when we complained they did move us to the first floor. If not we would have wanted our money back.
