A Hard Pass - Stay Elsewhere!
The pics the hotel has online are very deceptive. A lot of photo editing was done. It is very drab, smelly, and is not kept clean. The second floor of the hotel can only be accessed via a flight of steep stairs. There is no elevator.
The room was very dark due to poor lighting and very dark paint on the walls. The ac unit in the room worked well but really stunk the room up. I assumed the filters/unit needed cleaning and were the cause of the musty, old room smell. The bed was comfortable but I was a bit icked out by the makeup that was left on one of the pillows by a previous traveler. It made me question if they even changed the sheets after checkout. My sheets were clean but the dirty pillow made me uneasy and glad I had brought my own pillow. The dust ruffle hanging under the bed had “stains” on it. I did not want to know what it was, but my imagination filled in the blanks.
There is not a coffee maker in the room. The microwave that was in the room looked like it belonged in the break room at work. It was clean enough but food was caked in the cracks and wheels under the turntable.
At one point the hallway and lobby wreaked of marijuana. I know people are going to do what they do in their room but the hotel should have been proactive on removing the smell and finding the source.
The free breakfast is a hard pass. Very limited and mostly carb heavy choices.
Overall the room “worked” but I was very uncomfortable wondering about the cleanliness of things during my stay.
