The Clearing - Quiet - Close To Nature

This newly renovated cottage is located atop a hill overlooking the Wild and Scenic Westfield River surrounded by state forest and protected land. Wildlife abounds and we are a birder's haven. Many a morning you can watch mist arising from the river. Walk out the door to hike, mountain bike, snowshoe, or ski in the woods. Groomed cross country ski trails are nearby. Notchview Reservation, 20 minutes away has in my opinion the best XC skiing in Western Massachusetts.We are located midway between The Berkshires with its many cultural activities and the Pioneer Valley, home to the Five Colleges: U Mass, Smith, Amherst, Mt Holyoke, and Hampshire College. The cottage sleeps four (1 BR for 2, 2 built-in twins by the wood stove). The kitchen is fully equipped. We have installed an ethernet cable which brings the broadband service directly to the Cottage. The Connection is flawless.The owner lives on the property in the main home near to the cottage.
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned cottage, which features a fireplace and a private pool. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected. Conveniences include a microwave and a coffee/tea maker.

We were very comfortable in this cozy house. Lots of room to sit and eat, and a nice bathroom and soaking tub/shower. It was rainy so we enjoyed the seeing the views from inside with steaming cups of tea. We found everything we needed in the kitchen for making breakfast before heading out to see family in the area each day. So quiet except for birdsong! A lovely stay.

This cottage is well laid out. It’s very comfortable, with beautiful scenery. We loved the porch and used it even on a rainy day. It has everything needed in the kitchen for longer stays too. We would highly recommend.
