Well the room and bathroom were very clean, but it amazes me how bathrooms at hotels always have dirty “corners” and caulk by the tub areas. The staff was very nice, especially morning and day crews!

Our 1st time in Port Aransas, we came for the amazing birding of this whole area. Our 3-night stay became 4 here in this hotel. Parking was easy. Elevators worked fine. Staff (Melinda? and others) was most welcoming throughout our stay! Breakfast was very good with different hot food items each day, as well as a wide variety of the daily foods offered. A breakfast server kept things refilled very well. Very comfortable Deluxe King Room 203, the bed and room were wonderful... EXCEPT for the god-awful "searchlight" that is aimed right at room 203's windows! We studied the light from outside, and there is NO reason why the hotel needs to have it at all! It is plenty bright for the world to notice the building, thank you. And so much for "dark sky" awareness and sensitivity-- what an Arrogance of the hotel! Yes, the room has "room-darkening" curtains which help some when closed, not knowing if it's daylight out or not... WHY can't a person be able to look out and admire the outer surroundings from that room, instead of being blinded by that awful light ??? I KNOW it's been complained about before... the whole hotel stay was good, except for this BIG Light issue that really got to us. I certainly hope we return to the greater Port Aransas area again... just not to that room.

Our room was very clean. The hotel provided us complimentary toothpaste since we forgot ours and didnt have to go buy some. They were very welcoming of us and our golden retriever. They even had treats for him at the front desk and greeted him with pets! They didnt even mind when we bought him to the hotel straight from the beach! The complimentary breakfast was great, as well! Every morning they featured a different hot meal every dayfrom eggs and sausage, mini omletes, and biscuits and gravy along with the usual cereal, bread/english muffins/bagels, juices, and a waffle maker with a featured flavored waffle mix each day along with a classic mix. We will definitely stay here again.

Safety: the morning of our departure, with do not disturb flag on door, but door ajar, a man barged into our room unannounced to be surprised we were there. No uniform, no name tag, he claimed to be housekeeping. This action on his part causes concern for guests safety. I forcefully but not physically told him to leave and if part of housekeeping staff should honor door privacy flags. I reported this to front desk.
