Front desk service was terrific, breakfast was great, bourbon bar also fabulous. The building was very unique, and we appreciated the renovation efforts. Our suite was spacious and fairly clean. However- and this is quite serious- maintenance entered our room under non-emergency circumstances without our permission despite the do not disturb sign on our door. There was no advance notice- just a knock (which we ignored, as we were relaxing in the bedroom), then another knock, then two men used a key card & entered our room claiming they needed to look at the mirror in above the vanity. Extremely unsettling. We were sure to secure the extra lock until we checked out the following morning. Hotel management was made aware and an apology was issued.

The staff I interacted with were fabulous, especially Marcos in the Buckeye Bourbon House. The breakfast was fine - It's your standard upgraded continental hotel breakfast buffet. The building itself is really cool. The preservation of the historical architectural features of the old bank are really beautiful. My big issues relate to the overall condition of the hotel, especially the elevator and room. One of the elevators appeared to be under construction and was in really rough shape. Unfortunately this is the elevator that came for me every ride but one - The other elevator was nice! My room itself was a little rundown. There were loose tiles in the kitchen by the floor. The door to my room did not close correctly - It had to be slammed very loudly. The TV did not have streaming services, something common to most Marriott properties.

Unfortunately, my friend and I stayed at the Residence while it was undergoing restorations, so our experience is probably a little skewed. One of the elevators was covered in tarp and tape, but they did put up a sign expressing the hotel's apologies for any inconveniences. Later that week, that elevator shut down I believe. We were locked out of our room for one of the four nights we stayed, but that was due to the new door mechanism's batteries running out. We were given a new room free of charge on the spot, so that was very considerate of them. The first room we were in however, did have quite the leak in the bathroom sink. Hopefully they fixed that. And there were no shuttles available, which stunk because it was cold, but we were staying only 15 min from the convention center, so we sucked it up and walked. The breakfasts were very delicious, and well prepared, and had quite the variety. The staff were all very kind and considerate, and the room was spacious and clean. The lobby of this hotel is also quite spectacular, if a little old, I think it used to be a bank, so it's got gorgeous high panelled ceilings, huge windows, and what looks to be the original revolving doors, among other things. I hope they repair what's broken and restore that gorgeous building.

The hotel was undergoing renovations but the impact was minor. The rooms were excellent. The beds comfortable and the suite had a full size fridge, dishwasher, hot plate and full sink. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast buffet was Amazing. We will definitely be back again

Be good neighbors in a hotel

Everything was great. Except we had terrible thoughtful neighbors that got in at 1am and for at least 30mins slammed their door open and close. It was so bad it woke both myself and my daughter up. We both would drift open and bang. People do better
