This place has it all. Affordable pricing, walkable, shopping and dining options. Lake is a 3 minutes away and the bus ADO is only a 5 minute drive which is like $3 USD taxi. Best part is that you get access to Mayan Playa which is a $6 USD taxi ride. There you can enjoy a deck with lounge chairs, hammocks and swim at no cost. As well as Kayak, bar and small menu for a small fee.

Great hotel to stay in Bacalar.

My wife and I had a very good experience at this hotel. Its location is great, with access to restaurants and the lagoon within three blocks. People at the reception are very nice and friendly. Rooms are comfortable, clean, and the hotel has a nice terrace on the second floor for guests to use and relax. Only comment is that the design of the curtains in the room allows for some outside light to enter at night. We had to use a blanket on top of the curtain to make it dark inside, not a big deal, though. I would definitely come back.
