We have stayed here on many occasions, although not recently. The only redeeming feature of the Mill hotel is its location, being within walking distance to the centre of Chester. However, the hotel is tired and in need of refurbishment. We were disappointed in our stay, after booking a club room rather than a basic room and feel that the hotel standards are definitely on the way down. It is likely that we will not return.

The hotel was in a good location - it had car parking, but was also within walking distance of the city centre. The room was a good size, with plenty of storage space. The bed was comfortable, although the room was perhaps a little hot for my liking, with no obvious way to regulate the temperate apart from opening the window and putting up with traffic noise. In the bathroom, the water was lovely and hot and the shower nice and powerful. The breakfast was reasonable for us as vegetarians.

Our room was very small and hot even though we turned the radiators off and old fashioned. Breakfast was ok but not a lot of choice. Situated well for the centre of Chester shopping area. Bar and dinning areas were very nice.

Clean quiet room , all areas of the hotel kept very clean, staff were very friendly. Breakfast was great, spa pool etc great , short walk along canal to the town. Will definitely stay in this hotel again when in Chester.

Nice hotel; good location; booking directly with hotel saves paying £12 parking fee; room was a little tired; breakfast you need to book a time slot and quality of food wasn’t very good. Would I stay here, maybe depending on price we paid £180+, so wouldn’t pay that again, 50% less maybe

Lovely canal view room. Excellent facilities and very clean. The only downside is the buffet breakfast, due to limited choice and the toast being pre made so is sat there going cold.

The only fault is the bathroom. Some still have bath's which is a bit difficult at 61. I did manage to get in but then found the soap dispenser is out of reach! Also there are no towel rails or hooks. The toilet seems too low down. However while checking out i was informed i could request a shower room next visit. Happy Days!! Everything else is 100% !!

Our first room was dated, had holes in the net curtains and stains on the carpet which for the price wasn’t acceptable. The pillows felt like sleeping on rocks we complained and we were moved to a more upgraded room. The new room was nicer bed comfy and pillows better. On a plus the staff were all lovely very helpful. We didn’t eat dinner there but the breakfast was nice they had gluten free choices too.

Very friendly staff, both at reception and in restaurant. Put on breakfast earlier for those us taking part in Chester marathon on the Sunday, which was very helpful. Great pool and jacuzzi.
