The Dominican Republic has eight international airports. The best airport for flights to Punta Cana is Punta Cana International, which is between 10 and 30 minutes away from the main hotels. Other airports which may be used are the La Romana Airport which is 90-120 minutes away from the nearest hotels or the Las Americas International Airport which is about 4 hours' drive from the main hotels. The most popular way to travel from Las Americas is the commuter express bus. Most resorts pre-arrange transport to pick up their guests from the airport. Other transport options include taxis and shuttle services.

Punta Cana Weather

As with most of the Caribbean, in Punta Cana the weather is fairly warm all year round with temperatures averaging 30C. May to October is the hot season and very little rain falls in Punta Cana. However, low air tickets and bargains become available but it is not advisable to travel at this time as Punta Cana flights may be cut short. Many resorts also use this time for maintenance. April to May is the time when it's off peak and the possibility of some good deals is high.

Getting Around Punta Cana
