My husband and I checked in on a Friday night and immediately found our room in unacceptable condition—bugs on the floor, soiled curtains, sticky floors, a beeping smoke detector, no security latch, strong cigarette and chlorine smells, and constant barking from a junkyard dog directly behind the room. We went to the front desk to check out right away, but the staff wasn’t helpful. Since then, we have repeatedly tried contacting the hotel with no success. (The hotel phone does not work) Expedia and Choice Hotels also attempted to reach the property with no luck. Choice Hotels opened a case for us, but we still have not been able to speak to anyone at the hotel directly, and no attempt has been made to refund us or make the situation right. At this point, we’ve spent over five+ hours over the past 2 days trying to get any form of communication from the hotel manager.
Bug on room floor, this was one of 4 that we saw.
Dog from junkyard in the back of the hotel freely roaming the hotel parking lot, barking very loudly.

It was family weekend and game day as well for the Iowa Hawkeyes - meaning I had no options as the hotel and city was fully booked. And the prices were out of control. The room I was given was in poor condition, dirty showing much wear and tear - with one lamp. The heat was not working - so slept in my coat. I raised it with the front desk - asked for help, a new room or at least some compensation for the freezing nights sleep. I was handed a blanket instead. A big no all around and do not recommend.

Hotel is dated. Drain pretty plugged in the bathroom, rust on hinges in the bathroom. Coffee maker didn’t work. Bed was very comfortable and quiet in the rooms. Staff were very nice!

Falling apart and very outdated

Staff was very nice but the condition of the hotel is terrible. It looks very outdated and there were several things in the room that were broken or falling apart. The price was way too high for the condition of the hotel.

This hotel is old and very musty smelling. Very disappointed and they charge a ridiculous rate on Iowa football home games. $330 nightly is absurd for this hotel. We had problems with our TV as well.
