An Unforgettable Luxury Escape in Barú! From the moment we arrived at Sofitel Barú Cartagena, everything felt like pure paradise. The staff were exceptionally warm, attentive, and made every interaction feel personal. The resort itself is stunning — elegant architecture, lush tropical surroundings, and one of the most breathtaking beachfronts I’ve ever seen. Our room was immaculate, beautifully designed, and offered gorgeous ocean views that made every sunrise magical. The property was beautiful. However, it’s very isolated so the only dining options available are on the property. The pricing for the restaurants were way more than we expected for the quality of food served. Even when paying in USD, the average price was $30-40 for a course. Even the more “casual restaurants” were expensive and the food was underwhelming. The hotel was gorgeous, but probably won’t be returning due to the dining options.
