Great bargain!

For the price of about £10 a night, my 5 days went very well. Not too loud, bathroom in room and plug sockets at my bed. Will stay again and have recommended to friends.

I cancelled with plenty of notice and was refused option to move dates or refund my costs. Not very helpful or understanding. I had a sick relative that could not attend so we wanted to move dates. Awful customer service

This is a great Youth hostel. It is a short fifteen minute walk to the centre of Cardiff, we stayed there for a gig at Motor point Arena, Taxi back was just £5.00. Breakfast was really good hot and plentiful, Overall fantastic value for money. We were in a double room with En suite which was great bed comfy. Options of cooking your own food or restaurant great idea. Communal area to sit and enjoy a coffee. Brilliant cheap weekend away.

Lovely hotel (take your own towels!)

We would definitely recommend staying here - the room was great and service great. Our only real frustration was not being informed by Hotels.com that there are no towels and that you either bring your own or rent them for £2 each. So we had to pay when we could have just brought our own (which would have been fine for us). Breakfast was about £6.50 each, for cooked breakfast, cereal, juice, coffee/tea, pastries, etc. Good value!

This hostel is a good 20 mins walk out of town and there is nothing around it which is very annoying because I didn’t feel comfortable walking back at night. Other than that it is a nice hostel. Clean rooms, nice staff and just generally comfortable.

Clean youth hostel but lacks public transport

Due to availability, we booked 3 different private ensuite rooms for our 5 nights' stay. The 3 ensuite rooms we stayed in were in good condition and comfortable. We suggest that one or two more lights can be added to the room to make it brighter. We used its communal kitchen to cook some meals and found it well-equipped. Whenever we change our room, we need to store our 2 suitcases in the luggage locker at a charge of £4 for a big locker that can store 1 suitcase. To save the luggage storage costs, we asked the reception staff to help follow up with the cleaning team to get our next room ready around noon so that we can check in to the next room and move our luggage here. We appreciated that the reception staff were willing to make this arrangement. The youth hostel is quite far away from the city centre. We had to walk more than 30 minutes with heavy luggage from the Castle Street Coach Stop to the youth hostel as there were no buses to the youth hostel. It will be more convenient for guests who drive their cars to the hostel. Guests who don't like or are not capable of walking a lot should consider if this hostel suits their needs.

The Chair in my Room 336 The arm rest was broken which needs changing. The Lamps by the side of the bed are too close to were you sleep and when I woke up in the night to have a drink I did hit my head.

The details given for how close they are to things are not correct on hotels.com or another site as I would find out from another person staying in the room. Apparently they have moved from a previous location and have not updated those details. I would not have booked the room had I known that I would need a vehicle. It was very inconvenient. If you are driving, it is fine. Everything was clean and service was good.
