"If I could, I would give this hotel zero stars. The check-in process took forever. Breakfast was practically nonexistent — people stood in a long line for omelets, and there wasn’t even enough for everyone. With only one waiter on the floor, getting coffee or a refill was nearly impossible. If a hotel advertises breakfast included, it’s reasonable to expect a decent meal. To make matters worse, a month later the hotel called demanding an extra $22 “hotel charge,” even though everything had already been prepaid online. Be aware of hidden charges if you stay at Anthracite Hotel."

"Room is very comfortable, including the beds! Great location! We were visiting family in Scranton and it was a bee-line straight in, there within 10 min. Lots of food choices surrounding hotel, but we enjoyed our time in the attached tavern! Kevin and Dan are AWESOME! Front desk staff were also wonderful!! We decided this will always be our hotel when in the area ! And now looking at chance to use the facility for an upcoming christening event! Thank you for such a great stay at such an affordable price."
