We were visiting in the Honesdale area and it was by far the nicest place to stay in the area. Convenient covered parking on site, lovely outdoor patio, convenient to Lackawanna River walking trail. Room was spacious and very clean and made up every day. The included breakfast was adequate but poorly or understaffed as items like juice and silverware were not replenished without asking. I would recommend hotel to anyone staying in the area and would stay there again should the occasion arise.

The room was very nice. Great water pressure, comfortable beds. Plenty of space. The breakfast was above average for an American hotel breakfast - there was eggs, sausage, home fries, French toast, bagels, cereal, fruit - etc.

My husband and I love to stay here every time we go to Carbondale. The staff is always friendly, hotel and rooms always clean, and just the most peaceful place (no noise or traffic sounds, always peace and quiet) . Love it

I really like the large anthracite coal figurines in the lobby. This hotel is located in a coal mining town and the presentation was wonderful. There were some local restaurants within walking distance. Thanks for the experience, John

If you are looking for a hotel outside the usual chains, this is a great choice. We stayed for one night with my daughter and it was overall excellent. The hotel is the only one in town, it is on Main street. The town is small but the surroundings are beautiful, rolling hills, forests and lakes. The courtyard and lobby were welcoming and nicely decorated, the staff very helpful- the evening desk manager gave us a great recommendation for dinner at Frank's place a few minutes away. The room was clean and the furnishing was fine, the beds were comfortable, the place was quiet (our room overlooked the courtyard). The breakfast is included, it is quite copious but I was surprised that there was no bread. There is a covered parking and free wifi.

We had a wonderful stay at the Anthracite while in town for a wedding. From check in to check out all was smooth. The accommodations were well maintained and the location was convenient to both our Honesdale wedding and meeting up with family in Hawley. The breakfast was well executed with plenty of options. Coffee was served fresh by a waitstaff. If ever we're passing through, we'll be back.

Restaurant and bar is poorly run. Food was horrendous and a compleye disappointment from years past. Bartender didn't know how to mix basic drinks. Room had no hot water for the shower.
