The room, the staff, the service all impeccable. The only let down for me was the food. The buffet restaurant option is very simplistic and bland. Not enough choice and not replenished frequently, nothing was ever hot hot. I don’t know how children survived on the food in this resort as there was not enough really catering to children’s palettes but that wasn’t my concern. The Italian was basic and horrible (my friend experienced having the same exact watery tomato base in his starter and main course, the Mexican made my friend ill, only the oriental restaurant got a revisit from us. Did not visit the steak house as that was an additional cost for dinner and if the quality of the food in the other restaurants was anything to go by we didn’t want to risk it. The other restaurants on site were never all open at the same time, one was always shut. Even the buffet was closed one day which we found shocking but thank goodness we stayed in the Royal tower in a select room so we had the option to use room service multiple times a day for food which you you can’t in the standard rooms (only once per day) so we did end up going into town to find authentic Mexican food. Thank you to Yajahira my butler as she made things easier for us by fulfilling requests such as making reservations and securing Bali beds for us. The room service staff were also very pleasant. I would go back to this resort for the rooms and service but not for the food which is a shame as it’s a big aspect.

Room in the select part is amazing for the most part. Great design and comfortable. Downside is that I had no hot water for the duration of the stay in both the sinks and the hot tub. Hot water was only available in the shower, I raised a repair order twice but nothing changed. Food in this hotel is DIABOLICAL. I cannot stress how bad the food is here. Most days at least one restaurant is closed. I got food poisoning from the Mexican one, which took me out for 2 days, apparently they use unpasteurised cheese. Room service is a joke, quality is poor and this is the only all inclusive hotel I’ve ever stayed at where the buffet closes on some days. Staff are mostly good, they’ll try selling you a vacation plan aka “timeshare”. Location is great. To summarise, the hotel is in a great location and has great amenities. The food is beyond terrible which let it down for me and on that basis, I wouldn’t return.

Staff was super friendly. Our butler Jessica always gave us a list of activities each morning and was attentive to our concerns. She helped with restaurant reservations. One of our rooms had problems with the AC and it finally was resolved after our second complaint. The Italian and Asian food options were our favorites. Patricio from KOI and Carlos and Jose were the best waiters. The buffet needs more options. Barely had fruit during lunch and dinner! Our biggest complaint was there is no bottled water! They give you two blue containers to fill up for water and they are never replaced each day. I don’t want to use the same water bottle everyday for my 5 night stay. There is no soap to clean them each day either. I have never been to a resort that didn’t give bottled water! I know they’re trying to save the environment, but going out to fill water bottles was an inconvenience and to me not that sanitary since there wasn’t a cleaning option for them.

Food was okay for the price paid but drinks were not strong at all definitely have to ask for doubles. Amenities and area was great for travel off of property to do excursions. Staff all friendly, we did have a butler but we didn’t feel that mattered much. Adults side is not close to the rooms with the plunge pool and the plunge pool does not look like the pictures. Staff were amazing. The butlers are truly the highlight of this otherwise decent four star hotel. Alex and Sarah were both wonderful. I dealt with a medical issue during my stay and they were very helpful. My room was great - spacious and clean with great views (king hot tub room). The beach was unusable due to the seaweed, which I realize is out of their control, but I’ve seen other hotels do a better job of attempting to manage it - it seems most days they just didn’t bother. The low for me was the food - it was truly bad. The specialty restaurants were OKAY but the buffets and snack bar were awful - cold and repetitive and bland. You have to wait for dinner to have one decent-ish meal. If food is a priority, skip this hotel. If service/room/view are, it’s a good choice.
