The hotel and restaurant staff were wonderful. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. There were street people using IV drugs in the parking area. The hotel is near a hostel and there are many under housed people in and around the hotel. We were often approached when coming and going from the hotel.

The room & view was impressive, I belive I upgraded this and it was worth it. Mattress, bedsheets & pillows - notably fantastic. So much so that this many days after and I can still remember them. I've thought about buying the same for my house. Breakfast eating area was a little tight, but ok. I actually thought I would be worried about the car surface parking safety. I was pleasantly surprised coming late at night. Bit of stigma for the area, but it was bright, people still out, and no homeless loitering. To me area safety would outstrip even the best inside experience. In the morning we rented scooters and went from Sidewalk Citizen for a coffee all the way down to the Peace bridge. Blew me away that Eau Claire is gone. Fascinated by the flood mitigation landscaping. Next time, I'm booking same hotel. My new go-to.

The smoking area/outdoor garden area should be gated. I noticed there have been instances where individuals who are not staying on the property have been able to enter freely, which can create safety concerns for guests.

Very nice hotel, staff were excellent. Heater/Air conditioner woke me up every time it kicked on, about 10 times throughout the night. Lots of fentanyl zombies around the area of the hotel. Not in their control just an FYI it’s sad to see.
