I recently stayed at the Comfort Inn & Suites Airport South in Calgary and had a mixed experience. One of the standout features is the fantastic range of eating options just across the street in the nearby strip mall, which made meal selection easy and enjoyable.
Parking on-site is a bit tight, and the hotel is located between a busy commercial truck stop and a commercial parking lot, which can create some congestion in the area. However, the convenience of the location to the airport and local industrial area is a plus, making it a great spot for travelers.
The hotel offers the typical complimentary breakfast, which was satisfactory, and having coffee and tea available 24 hours a day is a nice touch.
One issue I encountered was with the eco-friendly air conditioning system, which appears to operate on motion detection. Unfortunately, this led to a warm night, as the system shut off when it didn't detect movement. I personally found this frustrating and not conducive to a comfortable sleep.
Overall, while the Comfort Inn & Suites Airport South has its pros, such as location and dining options, I felt it provided an okay value for the money. If you're looking for a convenient stay near the airport, it could work, but keep the cooling system in mind if you're sensitive to temperature changes.
