Pictures look great, but don’t match the reality. The exterior and deck are in very poor condition. The deck is rotting and needs to be replaced. The exterior has no eavestrough and several areas where the siding and soffit are falling off. The property is overgrown with junk and old tires laying around. We arrived to a flooded basement, the host claimed that they had never had water in the basement before. It is very clear that this is an ongoing problem based on the smell and condition of the flooring in the basement. We had to buy air mattresses for kids to sleep on the living room floor because the basement was unusable. The toilet seat in the main bathroom is the wrong size, the toilet in the ensuite is so close to the vanity it is impossible to sit on it. There is not a single towel rack in either bathroom but the hardware for mounting is on the walls. The smoke detector is hanging from the ceiling by its wires. All the window tracks were filthy and filled with dead bugs. The BBQ was also filthy when we arrived and the bottom was completely rotted out. When I brought all of these things to the hosts attention they offered no compensation and claimed that these were things they were aware of and were “working through”. They responded that the cottage was “fully functional” so basically they had done enough. The condition of the cottage was absolutely unacceptable for the price we paid. Very disappointing
