I booked this hotel because of the great reviews and I am not quite sure how it was rated so high. The hotel is fine, but it is not great by any means. The location is WONDERFUL and I felt very safe in the area, so it absolutely has that going for it and I highly recommend it on those grounds, but otherwise I was completely underwhelmed. I started to type a full review and ran out of space, so here is the abbreviated version: Breakfast: If it's free then you have nothing to lose, but DO NOT pay for breakfast, go anywhere else. Noise: The doors and walls are paper thin and you hear everything! The housekeeper starts at 7:30 every morning and is SO LOUD, I had to go out and ask her to be quiet because she woke me up at 7:30 every morning and I wanted to actually sleep. My shower got barely warm if I let it run for 5-10 minutes before getting in, but never was it hot, just warm. There is no climate control in the room either, heat or AC so you're stuck with what they are running, so be mindful of the season if you like control. Decor: This is weird to note but the hotel decorates with shadow figures painted on the walls in the rooms and metal shadow figure cutouts in the halls, which seems neat in theory until you wake up in the middle of the night and are groggy and think there are people standing in your room, or you're getting off the elevator into the dark hallway and are startled by what looks like a mystery person standing there, not something you want in a hotel.
Seriously, who thought shadow figures painted on the wall in the rooms was a good idea? They have clothes hooks on them too so it looks even more like a person is in your room in the middle of the night.
