"I can't believe this place is legally allowed to operate in this condition. Aside from the biting cockroaches and fleas in the beds (yes, literally) there were holes in the walls and unrepaired evidence of the door having been kicked in previously. The bathroom lightbulb was burned out, which helped hide the condition of the bathtub, the room reeked of urine and mildew, and it took 4 hours for the tiny air conditioning to get the temperature down to a tolerable temp. Nearly every other motel in town was booked out and I was exhausted from a 16 hour drive and knew I couldn't safely make it to the next town or I would have left immediately after seeing the room I was assigned.
I might never use cheaptickets ever again after this experience because the way this motel is portrayed is night and day from the reality I found when I arrived. I don't like to leave bad reviews in general - and I feel bad for the clerk that checked me in because he was clearly embarrassed about the condition of the place and self-consciously explained they had some staffing problems they were dealing with as I checked in at the front desk but even that can't explain what I found in the room. At midnight I heard a woman screaming but couldn't tell if she was in a room nearby or in the field behind us and it stopped abruptly. At 2 am some of the neighbors (that I think might live there long term) started to party- I would have felt safer sleeping in my car at a rest stop, and certainly more rested :/"
