I figure a hotel should have a door that locks, a clean bed, and functional plumbing. This place had two out of three. Sink did not drain making it impossible to brush your teeth and the toilet sounded like a train as it filled. Nevermind the little boy at the front desk who lied to me about rooms being "full to capacity."

We realize the prices go up when VA Tech has a home game but for over $300 one would think the owners could reattach wall paper that is falling off the wall and work at purchasing better sheets. The breakfast was more than ample and good.

Last resort for VT game weekend

The positives: the bed was comfortable and the sheets appeared to be clean. Other than that, this was a very rundown room. Directly off the highway. Questionable furnishings. Lots of damage to the walls and carpet. It bills itself as a three star hotel, which I know refers to the amenities offered, however, if I could give this half a star, I would in terms of customer experience. We thankfully only had to use this room for sleeping, so we kept our time there as minimal as possible. It was dank, dark and depressing. We had to move rooms initially because of the smell of smoke. Recommend to avoid if at all possible.

Staff was great, very friendly and professional. Breakfast lady super friendly and considerate. Hotel conditions were terrible…mildew stained caulk on sink and in tub; dirty grout throughout; toilet not bolted to floor and leveled using wood shims; no pop up sink drain so anything dropped in sink goes straight down drain; no ‘do not disturb’ sign; TV quit working on day 2; towels smelled musty; no bathroom fan/vent; furniture and walls dinged and damaged; overall a filthy room.
