Overall this hotel was average. I reserved a double queen room. Upon checkin I told the front desk attendant I wanted a quiet room. After driving eight hours we were tired and needed to sleep. She said since I booked online they cannot change the room. So we ended up with a room right by the interstate. Instead of getting some good sleep, we heard the traffic going by all night long. Make sure do your research before booking a room at this property!

The pictures of the property are very very enhanced. The property is in need of renovations and updates. Having said that, it was clean, the bed was super cozy and comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure.

Room was clean, very basic and very small for 2 people. It advertised a queen bed but it was more like a double bed. The bathroom was clean but showed its age (rusting around the toilet paper holder), shower head would not adjust. Front desk personnel were friendly and helpful.

Toilet not working

Our toilet would not flush properly. We called the front desk about the issue and they wanted us to come down to the desk and get a plunger to fix the problem. We asked if someone could fix the problem and that was the solution. When we asked about moving to another room, they wanted to have us pay an upcharge since there were no rooms left like ours, only an upgraded room. We refused and sat in disbelief that they were not willing to take care of a guest with this type of problem. They came up to plunge the toilet themselves, but the toilet still did not work properly. We saw another guest in the elevator with a plunger in his hands, so we were not the only ones experiencing this problem. We will never stay here again because of the poor management, not caring about the guests, and having to stay in a room with a non-functioning toilet.

The front desk was very helpful and pleasant. The room was clean enough, but just old. The bathroom also had some rust but it wasn’t dirty. Since it’s a pet friendly hotel, they could use some more outside areas to walk them (on leash). The breakfast, while free, wasn’t good. All processed junk basically.

We have stayed here several times while visiting our son at Virginia Tech. Its close to campus and close to shopping and restaurants. Its clean and parking is always well lit, staff is always friendly.

While the property is a little dated, it does the trick if you need a place to sleep and shower. The staff were very friendly and the continental breakfast was convenient. Because the backside of the building faces route 460, there's a lot of vehicle noise that penetrates the air conditioners. I would highly recommend a unit on the front side of the building.
