The bathroom fixtures were falling off the wall. When I reported it to the front desk he said thank you and hung up the phone. This is the 2nd Best Western we have stayed at the was ‘pet friendly’ but they put us in rooms that are substandard. The room in Dothan had a filthy carpet and smelled like wet dog. We pay an extra fee to bring our well behaved dog and expect the same type of room if we didn’t have a pet with us, not a smelly, scratched up room. We won’t be staying at a Best Western again. I reported this to both places

This was the second time we've stayed here but won't do a third time due to the lack of room cleaning and maintenance. First the highlights. The room was large, with a sofa, bigger than dorm size frig, nice size counter and bar sink. This hotel is pet friendly. The grounds surrounding the property (not on the hotel property) is great for walking the dog. There is a grove of pines that we walked along vs. typically walking around and around a parking lot. The parking lot was well lit. There's an awesome sushi place within 3 minutes (and several other restaurants ) easily walkable and the service and food was great. Now for the negatives. The ceiling in the shower room has mild growing on it and also mold growing pretty thick around the safety bar. The flip security lock inside the door was broken and parts were missing. The floor (nice LVT) was extremely dirty. You couldn't see it due to the color of the tile however I wiped up some water off the floor and the rag was filthy. It's been a long while since it's had good cleaning. The king size bed was ok but needs replacing as we rolled a bit to the middle. It is pet friendly. However when you check in a sign on the front counter clearly states the pet fee is $20 per night, per pet. Plus you sign the electronic card reader which also states it's $20. We were charged $24 so not sure why that is. The indoor pool was not working/closed. So due to these maintenance items and cleanliness issues, we won't stay again.

Not worth the nightly price

Employees were friendly enough, but the hotel is definitely not handicap accessible. We brought my handicap, mother and struggle to find close parking, and the only elevators were in the middle of the hotel, which made it hard for her to get back-and-forth. The indoor pool was not heated. It was freezing so we couldn’t even swim. The room was subpar, not worth the amount I paid nightly. Beds were super hard and too firm. The door wouldn’t shut without force so we were concerned for our safety. The only thing good was that it was in a convenient location, so there was plenty of food and shopping around to enjoy.

Everything about this facility / service was average (at best) Not altogether negative but nothing to write home about or to share with others. A/C was noisy -renovations to bathroom area was sub-par. Breakfast was complete with powdered eggs and little choices of fresh fruit for oats or yogurt.
