HOUSE RULES
Please review the house rules below. By booking your stay, you are agreeing to all terms and rules below.
TRASH: Big Bear Lake does not permit trash to be left on site per City Code. Guests are required to remove & dispose all trash at one of the free “Clean Bear” trash sites. The nearest one is conveniently close at 1.6 miles away (41970 Garstin Dr.) If you prefer not to take your bags to the trash site, there are 2 Large Trash Bins provided in the garage. We will charge a disposal fee of $25 PER BAG or $75 for the fill of both trash bins. Any additional trash that doesn't fit in the trash bins will include a disposal fee of $25 PER BAG.
NON-SMOKING: Our cabin is a non-smoking property. Please move to the back deck or driveway if you would like to smoke. Make sure to dispose your ashes & cigarette butts carefully and responsibly. Smoking in home penalty will be $300 if there is any evidence of smoking.
NO PETS: If there is any evidence of a nonapproved pet, your deposit may be forfeited towards additional cleaning.
NO PARTIES: We want to emphasize that there is zero tolerance for parties at our home, including bachelor/bachelorette parties, & sorority/fraternity parties. We value our home & want it to stay in good condition. If there is any evidence of partying, including alcohol spills all over the floor & messes caused by alcohol sickness, there will be a charge for the extra cleaning. We ask guests to be respectful towards the neighbors by keeping the noise & music down, especially after 10PM. Our neighbors will instantly call the cops and the code enforcement if noise is excessive. We ask that guests only book with us if they are not planning on partying.
NO CONFETTI, GLITTER, or PIÑATAS: If there is any evidence of confetti, glitter, or piñata use, in the interior or exterior of the cabin, there will be a charge of $50
KITCHEN USE: Per city ordinance, all dirty dishes must be washed & dried. Before your departure, start dishwasher for items deemed dishwasher safe. For the rest, hand wash and dry. Dirty dishes left behind will result in a $50 charge. We also ask that you empty the refrigerator when you leave.
HOT TUB: We do have neighbors so hot tub hours are strictly between 8am - 10pm. Please keep the hot tub cover on at all times when not in use. If pine needles fall into the hot tub, throw them back out so that they don’t get sucked into the filters. If needed, shower before using hot tub to remove spray tan, hair dyes, make up, suntan lotion, or anything that might cloud the water and clog filters rendering the hot tub unusable & unavailable for subsequent guests. Absolutely no glass is allowed around the hot tub area. Not following may result in additional charges such as drain and fill fee or for other additional cleaning ($150+). If for some reason the hot tub is not working, we do our best to get a spa repair company to repair it or specified parts needed to repair as quickly as possible. However, we do not offer any guarantees, refunds, or compensation if it is not operational during your stay. After use, please press “Cleaning Mode” as it will filter the water and will auto shut off when it is finished.
POOL TABLE :DO NOT MOVE THE POOL TABLE, we paid to have it balanced in the current position! If you move the pool table, your full deposit will be forfeited & any amounts over that for additional repairs! Please be mindful when hitting the ball. Do not jump the ball. May cause ball to fall to lower level & may cause harm or damage.
SNOW SEASON: Homeowners are NOT responsible for any injury caused by slipping on snow or ice. Please do not drive on & pack down the snow into the driveway, this makes the snow very hard to remove. Guests are responsible for the removal of snow & ice around the doorways & paths to house & car. A SNOW SHOVEL WILL BE PROVIDED at the home. If you are unable to find a shovel, please contact us so we may deliver one. All guests assume the risk caused directly or indirectly from guests’ failure to remove snow and ice around access areas. If any professional snow removal needed, please contact Vincent. The number will be available on the rules in the house.
SNOW REMOVAL: Snow Removal is the guests’ responsibility. Winter snow can reduce parking by one or more spaces depending on your location. Plan appropriately. We’ll shovel when cleaning prior to check-in, but shoveling may be required to gain access to the cabin. A snow shovel will be provided at the home, if you are unable to find a shovel please contact us so we may deliver one. City plows may inadvertently leave a berm or small snow bank across the driveway which may impede access to the house until removed by the tenant. Issues or delays may arise if snow fall occurs close to your arrival or check-in, so please watch the weather to be prepared. Tenants are responsible for time & cost of snow removal during cabin stay & no credits will be issued due to inconvenience or issues. It is advised to shovel periodically while the snow is fresh before it turns into solid ice. Feel free to reach out to us if you need assistance on finding a professional to plow for you. Snow is a desired mountain seasonal climate occurrence during the winter months, but it comes with some responsibility.
LIABILITY: Homeowners are NOT responsible for any personal injury or loss or damage to guests' persons or property. All guests staying assume the risk to their persons & property caused directly or indirectly from foul, weather conditions, acts of nature, failure of heat, accidents related to fire, heaters, stoves, or hot tub, any other appliances, falling of pine cones or tree branches, & any other unforeseeable circumstances. Under no circumstances will guests hold host/owners responsible for any damages or claims of any kind resulting from their stay.
AGREEMENT: By booking Sunny Side Up, you are accepting & agreeing to follow all terms and conditions above & you accept liability for all fines by the owner.
AGREEMENT: The city of Big Bear Lake has an agreement that they require all short-term renters to sign before accessing their cabin. The "Signature of Guest" section on page 2 must be completed & sent back to us prior to guest accessing the cabin. It's on the city's website (citybigbearlake)->Vacation Rentals ->Good Neighbor Policy Brochure
*IMPORTANT: We want to emphasize that there is zero tolerance for parties at our home. We value our home & want it to stay in good condition. If there is any evidence of partying, including alcohol spills all over the floor & messes caused by alcohol sickness, there will be a charge for extra cleaning. We ask guests to be respectful towards the neighbors by keeping the noise and music down, especially after 10PM. Our neighbors will instantly call the cops and the code enforcement if noise is excessive. We ask that guests only book with us if they are not planning on partying
*IMPORTANT: There are 2 water heaters for the house - one for each side of the house. One water heater is for the Primary Bathroom & the Bathroom above in Bedroom 3. Also for the Kitchen as well. The other water heater is for the bathroom outside Bedroom 2 where the bunk beds are & the bathroom above it. Also for the laundry room as well.
*IMPORTANT: If for some reason something is broken, not working, or missing, we do our best to to repair it or order specified parts needed to replace or repair as quickly as possible. However, we do not offer any guarantees, refunds, or compensation if something is not operational during your stay.
*IMPORTANT: Reservations cannot be cancelled due to weather. Please check the weather report. If it is snowing or has snowed recently, tire cables/chains may be REQUIRED. During winter months (Nov 1- Apr 1), California law states all vehicles must carry chains. We have unpredictable weather and freezing temperatures where chains could be needed at any time.
Make sure to check with Cal-Trans or CA Highway Patrol for current road conditions.
R-0: No Restrictions
R-1: Chains or snow tread tires required. Snow tires must have a tread depth of 6/32″ with an M&S imprint on the tire’s sidewall.
R-2: Chains required on all vehicles, except four-wheel drives or all-wheel drives with snow tread tires on all four wheels. Four-wheel drives must carry chains in the vehicle. If you have four-wheel drive, engage it. Use 4-Low only if your vehicle becomes stuck.
R-3: Chains required on all vehicles, no exceptions.
If the chain control requirements are not followed, the CHP will make you turn-around and get them if you don't have them, so it is best if you have them in your vehicle before you leave. Reservations cannot be cancelled due to weather.
