A private one-bedroom suite tucked off the alley behind a historic 1897 farmhouse in the middle of downtown Bellingham. Its own entrance, its own gated parking spot, and a small wood-fenced patio with a coffee table and two chairs that feels genuinely private. Nobody walking by can see in. Nobody upstairs is sharing your space.
Inside: king bed, full kitchen with gas stove and white cabinetry, 55-inch smart TV with FireTV on the leather sectional, bathtub, in-unit washer and dryer, and a dedicated workspace with fast wifi. Everything is self-contained and clean.
The gated yard wraps around the back. Fenced, private, and included in your stay along with a dedicated parking spot inside the gate. Pets welcome.
This is a good base for two people who want to actually be in Bellingham, not near it.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Bellingham's Saturday Farmers Market at Depot Market Square is a three-minute walk and one of the better ones in Washington: produce, hot food, live music, the kind of market you end up staying at longer than planned. It runs Saturdays from April through December.
Bellingham has a serious food and brewery scene for a city its size. A few honest recommendations from someone who lives here:
Gruff Brewing is a neighborhood staple worth an evening. Kulshan Brewing operates out of the Trackside complex: an outdoor beer garden, wine bar, and food hub built next to a large bike park where kids can ride while adults eat and drink in the sun. It is close enough to walk to.
Otherside Bagels for the morning, L&L for sandwiches and salads that are better than they need to be, and the Community Food Co-op for organic groceries and one of the better breakfast burritos in town.
For dinner: Starla's for pizza and natural wine, D'Anna's for comfort Italian with large portions, Rock and Rye Oyster House for happy hour oysters at $1.50, Aslan Brewing for organic beers and burgers. Roe is a short drive and worth making a reservation for the counter.
Western Washington University is a six-minute walk. Mount Baker Theatre is twelve minutes on foot.
FOR THE OUTDOOR CROWD
Galbraith Mountain, one of the best trail networks in the Pacific Northwest, is a short ride from the house with options from beginner flow trails to technical enduro riding. I co-host a guided riding experience with a professional UCI Downhill World Circuit racer, tailored to your ability. Guests get 20% off. Message me before or after booking if you want details.
The Chuckanut Mountains are accessible from town, with trails ranging from waterfront walks to ridgeline routes with Puget Sound views. Whatcom Falls Park is a few miles away and worth a morning.
In winter, Mount Baker Ski Area is about an hour's drive and one of the snowiest resorts in North America. Bellingham is the closest real city to it.
Bellingham Bay kayak and paddleboard rentals are available at the waterfront, a short drive from the house.
GOOD TO KNOW
The suite sits on a residential block in a busy part of downtown. There is some street noise, particularly on weekend evenings. It is a lively neighborhood, which is most of the point.
There is a small step up to the front patio, worth knowing if anyone in your group has mobility considerations.
Check-in is via smart lock after 4 PM. Code sent automatically before arrival. The separate unit attached to the main house is not part of this listing and not accessible to guests. Exterior security cameras are on the property at entrances and exterior areas only.
City of Bellingham Short-Term Rental Permit: USE2025-0021.
