Great service & experience!! All staff were very friendly & everything was very clean! it was hard to find good food but once we figured out what was good, we stuck with the same choices. Steak at steakhouse isn’t worth the wait…it was silver & rubbery. Italian place is the best restaurant! We saw whales from the beach & sea turtles hatching there which was amazing!

Hotel was clean, food was good! Had to stand in line for dinner Hour +. Couldn’t make reservations. Hotel cut lots of corners in details. Fun resort for families. I personally would not go back.

From the entertainment staff, to the cleaning crew, to the bartenders, the bellboys, the front lobby crew, the waiters, everyone is working their butts to make sure your vacation is perfect. The second we walked in, we were greeted with fun and kidness. The bellboy was hilarious, letting our kids hop onto the trolley cart and riding it! The check in was fast and efficient. Our room was in perfect condition. Clean and nice and cool all week! The rooms are stocked with lots of drinks (water, beer, pop, plus other alcohol). The water in the shower is nice and warm. The food was yummy with something different to eat every night. The waiters and cooks are constantly moving and working and making everything seem effortless. Also the burgers and fries by the pool were delicious. The entertainment staff was by far the best I’ve seen. Always “on” and smiling, making people feel special. Christopher specifically went above and beyond. Same with Fryda (she knew everyone’s name-it was amazing. Anna was wonderful and kind. Abnar was a lot of fun too! I can’t believe how hard the staff works here. A special shout-out to Griss from the kids club who was SO GOOD with our little guy. He never wanted to leave the kids club!! The drinks were delicious and strong !! There is literally always something to do here, for both kids and adults. The foam party and neon party stood out to us in a big way, so much fun! The shows were a tad lacking but we enjoyed the contests prior to the shows!

The customer service (front desk) needs to go to customer service school. Horrible responses when simple questions were asked. Bar staff was 6/10, food was 6/10. The elevators were not in full service but there was a packed house. On check out I left my room keys and towel keys in my room by mistake. I wasn’t going to run up 7 floors to collect them because of the broken elevator. They charged me 800 peso’s for reused room keys. This hotel was so loud at night that you had to leave the tv on and the air conditioner to mask the noise. The staff expected a tip every time you needed something and wouldn’t serve you if you didn’t leave a tip. Never again will I stay at another Riu. Overall experience, I couldn’t wait to get out of there and fly home to the snow. That bad!
