The Southwinds Condominium Complex, located on Atlantic Beach's grand oceanfront, provides you with the vacation you deserve. Allow yourself to drift away from your everyday stress in one of the two outdoor swimming pools, or take a walk down to the beach and dip your toes in the water. It's the perfect place for a vacation, close to area amusements with picnic areas and grills on-site.


Southwinds A-16 is a beautifully decorated condo on the third floor with an amazing oceanfront view. Cozy up on the living room sleeper sofa and catch up on your favorite shows or movies on the flatscreen TV and DVD player. The fully equipped kitchen and dining area is great for family meals together; you could also have a picnic on the oceanfront balcony and watch the waves come crashing in.


After a long day of making sandcastles and moats, you can toss your swimsuits and beach towels in the stacked washer/dryer so they'll be ready for the next day. The kids can retire to their twin beds as you watch a little TV in the primary bedroom with a private bathroom that has built-in tile shower. Free WiFi is provided as well.

This place was nice and clean. Great view from balcony. It states sleeps 6 but I think 4 is plenty. Kitchen not very well stocked. Bathrooms need non slick mats for showers. Floors are very slick and a towel doesn't work. Otherwise this is a nice place

Some updates needed, refrigerator was rusted, shower slow to drain and puddled in bottom while in use, other tub was busted and had a large tape patch on it. Condo was on third floor and only way up and down was steps which made bringing luggage and food tough. Overall, condo was nice as well as clean, property was very nice, and the view was amazing.

The condo is just as pictured. It was perfect for our family trip. The view from the balcony is beautiful and right next to a pool. We loved that the condo is right next to Fort Macon State Park. We spent a day there exploring the Fort and beaches. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful ocean view

This unit has a beautiful ocean view. It’s a third floor rental so be prepared for stairs as there’s no elevator. The check in/out process is bumpy as there is a keyless entry and vacasa sends you a code but also requires you to pick up a packet with a key- this is likely because the door lock system isn’t easy to use with either the key or the code. You also have to drop the packet back to the office prior to leaving. The Vacasa emails and directions do not match the physical packet we were given for checking in/out. There were several issues with things that needed to be updated, most prominently were the note on the main bath/shower asking us not to use it, the screen door that fell off when we opened it, and the microwave we had to plug in and then promptly unplug because the fan would not stop running. Vacasa did issue a discount for these inconveniences. There were a few minor things as well, and Vacasa offered to send someone over but we declined as we didn’t want people working in the space while we were there. The unit itself is a cute space, cozy and comfy, and the patio furniture was perfect for viewing the beautiful coastal sunset. The grounds are clean and well kept with two pools and easy access to the beach!

Nice condo. The view was terrific. There were some issues that we reported to the property manager (microwave fan never stops, master bath sink is pulling away from the wall, and there is potential for a leak in the 2nd bathroom...grout is pulling away from the bathtub). None affected our stay. The shower in the master bath is quite small and it can be dangerous stepping out as you have to step down and there is an optical illusion with the tile of the shower and the floor. Overall, it was a nice condo.

Great place for our long weekend

Thoroughly enjoyed the weekend at Atlantic Beach. Property was clean and comfortable. Kitchen fully stocked and washer dryer worked well. Be prepared; it is on the third floor and no elevator, but the views are worth it!

Two day getaway

Place was as described. Me and my dad enjoyed a couple days collecting shells and reminiscing about times on the island 30 years ago when I was a kid. If you are looking for a 5 star place then pay for one... this was perfect for our short stay for the price.

Property needs updating and a good cleaning. Booked through Vacasa - paid the first and last installment and then received the Contract. This is not the way to do business. Check out rules per online and per the office and text did not match. At checkout, all the paperwork including keys and keypad code were placed in an exterior bin that does not drop...perhaps thirty agreements in the bin. This is NOT the way to do business - anyone could have accessed the bin and property. I will not use Vacasa again.

Great location and views

Walking distance to Fort Macon State Park. Oceanfront view from balcony and bedroom. 2 flights up without elevator. Nice hotel type amenities such as linens. Not enough space for guests belongings due to so much decoration. Pots and pans need upgrades. Would recommend!
