"The room was in good condition, and the staff was courteous. It was a very convenient location to the beach and the town of Mazunte. Room had a balcony with a pleasant view to enjoy the hotel's coffee and to enjoy the birds in the trees and see people on the street. It was Mardi Gras, so we enjoyed a lot of live music at the beginning of the week coming from the restaurants (My elderly mom had a different opinion after 10 PM). The rooms had a significant number of surfaces to arrange belongings. Strangely, however, only a couple of hooks on a mirror and no closets or wardrobes for hanging clothing, nor drawers. I know that bed bugs are a big problem everywhere now, so perhaps this is a strategy to enable thorough cleaning after guests depart? Beds on the hard side. Otherwise, enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. "

"We really enjoyed staying here! Great breakfasts, staff happy to accomodate our broken Spanglish, perfect location, could've used a chair in the room but the cool showers we're fine and we could sit at the bar any time. Might try for a fancier room next time as we'd easily go back. Dogs and cats friendly and not begging, roosters a bit noisy but they're all over town. 5 minute walk to beach and loads of restaurants. Found a short cut to the night life area too. A lucky find!"

"This is as lovely quiet hotel (ignore other reviews that mention noise from clubs and bars nearby - they clearly have reviewed the wrong hotel!). The location is slightly out of the main area of Zipolete - but only 1 minute from the beach. The pool area is amazing and the pool lovely. Whilst there is no breakfast of food available they do provide a constant supply of coffee and facilities to make tea. There is a local shop at the entrance and loads of restaurants nearly. Our only comments would be that the room balconies need to be improved - there is no protection apart from a single rail which felt slightly unsafe, no chairs are provided (why not - we just could not understand this - some residents took the pool chairs to use) and the views from the upper rooms are blocked by the overhanging roofs). Oh snd a small fridge in each room would have been nice. "

"Anyone who has made a home this magical and is still willing to share this kind of beauty deserves all the praise we can muster. We loved our stay here. It was simply fantastic. We fully recommend working with the owners for support with arrival, local travel, community goings on - anything really. They are such lovely people. They are tapped into the local community and culture and run a conscientious and ethical business.It's rare to find something that feels a bit off-grid with such amazing amenities and supportive hosts. You feel totally alone when you want to. You have your own path down to a secluded beach. And, you still have the comforts of a lovely kitchen, working bathrooms, and laundry on-site!If you want to see people, you have a hotel beach restaurant that you can walk to in minutes. And the view! We saw whales right off the balcony. Eagles flying right next to the windows. The sunrises and sunsets couldn't have been more picturesque. And the sounds of the ocean are always within reach. Casa Contada is such an amazing tonic for the maladies of the modern world. We feel so lucky to have found it and to have been able stay. Enjoy!"
