My wife and I stayed nine nights in August, and really enjoyed this property. It is cozy as advertised, newly renovated, and spotlessly clean. The air conditioning was put to good use during the heat wave that swept through during our visit. Check in and check out were smooth, and the hosts were easy to communicate with. I can’t imagine a better location than this apartment has. Within one block there’s a boulangerie, pharmacy, bus stop, laundry facility, and a small grocery store. One more block gets you to the banks of the Charante river, where we enjoyed several picnics. A 5-minute walk gets you to the train station, where we enjoyed day-trips to Bordeaux, Cognac, and the beach at Royan. There’s also direct service to Paris. Another short walk up hill gets you to the Centre Ville, with tons of restaurants and shopping. Also, do yourself a favor and walk 15 minutes to the Marche Victor Hugo for an amazing variety of fresh food at affordable prices. Overall, our stay was everything we had hoped for.
