1. Sewage issues: I was graciously given an upgrade when I arrived, which when I went into the room, I turned down as the bathroom smelled like sewage. The reception person kindly apologized and gave me a room on the 11 Floor with access to the Lounge. On the second night of my stay, we had the same sewage smell in that room while the water ran on the tap. In the final day, I go into the men’s restroom down in the lobby, and found the smell there once again. Three times in three days.
2. State of property: the property is seriously run down. You can see it in the furniture everywhere you look (reception, room, lobby, restaurant). Clearly not the standard of a 4 star property as advertised by Expedia. The area where the hotel is located also does not help seeing that the hotel is beside a cemetery, a Soup House, and a Medical Care facility for the handicap, not to mention the number of homeless drugatics (on marihuana or worse) - it does not create a feeling of safety when walking toward the restaurants and shops as you have to cross all this area (3-4 blocks).
3. Cleanliness: the property appears to be running low in staff causing this to be an issue. Tables are sticky, coffee marked on the roof of the lounge, etc.
4 Personnel: at the reception and cleaning staff, they appeared nice enough…however, at the restaurant, you can see there are problem in service, cleanliness of where the food is being served, and follow up with clients.
