Stay in a historic Amsterdam city villa, recognised and protected as a building of national heritage. Designed by the same architect as the iconic Royal Theatre Carré, it offers a rare opportunity to experience the city’s architectural history from the comfort of a private, contemporary apartment.
The apartment occupies the ground floor of our home, with no stairs, and offers approximately 80 m² / 860 ft² of living space. It sits on a peaceful residential street directly opposite the Rijksmuseum gardens. From the living room, you can enjoy a view of the museum; outside, your private 26 m² / 280 ft² city garden offers a lovely place to relax, with atmospheric lighting in the evening. Three-metre-high ceilings add to the sense of space throughout.
There are two bedrooms, each with a king-size bed (180 × 200 cm / 71 × 79 in), making the apartment well suited to families or two couples. An additional air mattress (150 × 200 cm / 59 × 79 in) can be prepared in the living room on request.
The full bathroom, accessible from the hallway rather than through a bedroom, includes a bathtub with fixed and handheld showers, a sink and a toilet. There is also a separate guest toilet with a small sink. The fully equipped kitchen provides filtered chilled, sparkling and boiling water straight from the tap, as well as complimentary coffee and tea.
For year-round comfort, the apartment has two air-conditioning units in the living room and one in each bedroom, plus additional fans. Families are warmly welcomed: a high chair, baby cot (60 × 120 cm / 24 × 47 in), Deryan toddler travel bed, playpen and children’s bed rails are available on request.
The Museum District puts much of Amsterdam within walking distance. The Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Vondelpark are close by, while the luxury boutiques of P.C. Hooftstraat are just around the corner. After a day exploring the city, you can return to the privacy of the apartment and its garden.
