"Staff on reception gave us an excellent welcome, and were lovely throughout, always saying hello and asking how we could be helped.
The room was clean but in the decor it was dated. Our wardrobe mirror door had a big crack that was gaffer taped up. There were no electric plugs by the bed and the carpet was very old. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was very good, although clearly a bath had been removed to make a large shower, as the bath taps were still in the wall feeding the shower. Actually a very clever cost cutting idea!
We were give a choice of room on the inside outside of the building. Wanting fresh air we said outside. Now what we gained in air we lost in outside noise from the bar below. But that was fine.
Lots of storage.
Breakfast had a decent choice of offerings. Coffee was ok. Breakfast staff were nice too.
Hotel position is perfect for the old town and it feels as if the new chain running it is only trying to improve things further.
It is VERY clean. Recommended."
