"You should go in with realistic expectations. Algoma Beach Motel is an older place. It is a bit worn and shows its age. That said, we loved the place. It has and old beach cottage-y feel and the location can't be beat. We stayed in one of the lake-facing rooms. We watched and listened to the waves. If it had been warmer, we would have walked the boardwalk to the downtown. The lights along the boardwalk are very cool. Parking was easy. The continental breakfast was sparce. We enjoyed our stay. ;-)"

"We had a nice family vacation here - we really enjoyed the view of Lake Michigan right outside our door with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We were often out on the large deck enjoying the weather and the view, and hearing the waves on the beach. The grandkids enjoyed the hot tub, and the adults enjoyed kayaking on the lake, with the convenient beach access. We liked the open kitchen-dining-living room with lots of light during the daytime from the skylights, and everything was on one floor. The kitchen was well-stocked with cooking utensils, and having the laundry room was great. The host, Emily, was very responsive, which we appreciated."
