Christopher Columbus called Montego Bay, the tourist capital of Jamaica, Fair Weather Bay in 1494. Locally referred to as MoBay, it is home to the famed clear turquoise water and pristine sands of Doctor’s Cave Beach. Sangster International Airport (MBJ) is the main aviation gateway to Jamaica. Located northwest of Montego Bay, the airport is a short driving distance from the city. Travel the scenic coastal road to the popular beaches of Negril, and points of interest like Dunn’s River Falls and Park in Ocho Rios.
While there are a few direct flights from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International (FLL) to Montego Bay, most require a minimum of at least one stop. As a result, these flights take longer than seven hours. Car rental counters are located in the Ground Transportation Hall in the terminal arrival area.
