A trip to Moscow is guaranteed to bring you new and unusual experiences, and the city will offer you plenty of things to see and do. With so much on offer, having a vehicle ready to go is your best bet for travelling around. You can pick up a rental car at Sheremetyevo International Airport (SVO), before making the 30-minute drive into the city. Travelers can start their visit to this historic city at Red Square; the ideal place to catch the vibe of this beautiful city.
Picking out Saint Basil's Cathedral is easy when you're at the Red Square; it's the large building with the beautiful colored domes. These unusual structures are typically referred to as onion domes. Construction started in the mid-1500s under the watchful eye of Ivan the Terrible. The church was built to look like the flame coming from a blazing bonfire.
At the Kremlin, you can tour the seat of power for the Soviet Union. Alternatively head to Lenin's Tomb, where you can view the embalmed body of the notorious communist leader. He's been on display there since his death in 1924.
Travelers can expect the flying time between John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), and Moscow, to be right around the ten hour mark.
