If you want to visit Colombia from Miami then you need to catch a flight from Miami International Airport (MIA) to José María Córdova International Airport (MDE) and you’ll land in Colombia’s second biggest airport in Rionegro, which is just forty five minutes from Medellin.
People who fly to MDE will find a myriad of attractions waiting for them in the nearby city of Medellin, including the likes of the Museum of Antioquia and El Volador Hill.
Visitors can also go to Los Katios National Park, which is a protected area in Colombia’s northwest that covers around seven hundred and twenty hectares of land. Elsewhere, the Nutibara sculpture park, which is the first of its type in the whole of Colombia, is situated at the bottom of Nutibara Hill and is a must-see for all tourists.
The city of Medellin is no stranger to annual events and festivals and offers some of the best in the region including the Feria de las Flores (the Festival of the Flowers), that takes place in August, Medellin International Jazz Festival in September and Santa Elena’s local wine festival, the Vino Barranquero, which takes place in December.
