Los Angeles International (LAX) airport is one of the busiest airports in the country with millions of passengers going through each year. The airport is less than 20 miles from downtown, and is easily accessed via I-110 or I-405. Parking is available, but the airport is also easy to get to via shuttle, public transportation or a hired van. Flight times are usually about twelve-and-a-half hours to Munich Franz Josef Strauss Airport (MUC). You can leave the airport via rental car, bus or train. Access to the city is available on the A9 or the A92.
Munich is home to many famous attractions, including Neuschwanstein Castle, New Town Hall, BMW Headquarters, St. Peter's Church and Theatine Church. Other things to see include Linderhof Palace, the Munich National Theater, Old Town Hall and Blutenburg Castle. Sports fans will enjoy what the Olympic Stadium Allianz Arena has to offer. Annual events to attend in Munich are Oktoberfest, Munich Ballet Week and the Munich Opera Festival.
The weather in Munich ranges from below freezing in the winter, to the 80s and 90s during the summer. The best neighborhoods to stay in while visiting Munich include the City Center and Olympia Park.
