Houston George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) is the second largest air facility in Texas and is named after the 41st President of the United States. Located 23 miles north of the downtown Houston area, it is situated between Highway 59 and Interstate 45. The airport provides direct access to Phoenix Sky Harbor International (PHX) with flights from multiple carriers daily.
All airport terminals at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) are served by Valley Metro public transit bus, while the METRO Light Rail stops at the nearby Washington at 44th Street station.
The Phoenix Zoo is the largest of its kind in America and remains a popular local attraction as well as the Japanese Friendship Garden, Phoenix Botanical Gardens and Saint Mary’s Basilica.
The Tovrea Castle, located just off State Route 202, is also a well-known point of interest. Golf enthusiasts will love the spectacular Dinosaur Mountain course at Gold Canyon Golf Resort.
Thanks to its desert climate, Phoenix has some of the highest average temperatures of any major US city during the summer, usually triple digits, so be sure to pack appropriately.
