Room didn't appear to have been clean properly. There was rubbish on the floor and a dirty flannel/wash cloth in the bathroom. The corridor outside the room clearly hadn't been hoovered, it was left dirty for the two days we were staying. The shower was cold on day two.

Clean it up

Really great location, however, there were cobwebs in the windows and Pineneedles all over. If they just had someone sweep the windows and the metal roofs where people can see out onto them from the windows, that would really improve the space. Also, they had an incredibly loud concert downstairs that was rather disturbing during the stay.

Great location, next to the beach and parkland everywhere else. Initially, booked me into a room that had not been cleaned! Otherwise nice room. You cannot beat the location anywhere north of Chicago.

I absolutely loved the view! So peaceful. We were there for my daughters graduation from the navy bootcamp, it was an easy drive to base. A very beautiful area! Staff was over the top! I loved it all. Took walks at the beach and the sound of the waves were amazingly comforting. We all had a blast! Food at the restaurant was really good! I had the ceaser salad my kids had the meatball sub and we were all very full and satisfied. It was delicious!! If i ever come back this way this will definitely be my go to place to stay!!!!! I do not remember the lady at the front desk name but she has a daughter that lives in abilene where i live, anyway she was so awesome! We had great conversations. I would give this place a 10 all day long!!!!

Every thing seems out of date. The carpets look so dirty every where. No toilet paper roll holder in room looked broken and never fixed. Bathroom smelled moldy the vents look so gross. Doors on exterior seemed to always be unlocked not safe feeling doos always proper open. Pool had been closed for over a year. Such a large beautiful pool not being utilized is such a disservice to the lake county community.

Restaurant was out of several things, breakfast was expensive for the food provided and there was some mold on the tub...but tgese were small things when compared to the location and beautiful views. This hotel, and trip, were exactly what i needed for a mental get away. Tgank you.

The property has so much potential, it’s a shame that they maintain the minimum standards on cleanliness and atmosphere. Our room obviously hadn’t been stayed in for awhile and was not cleaned up beforehand. They’re were spiderwebs and spiders everywhere inside and the balcony was basically a spider pit. The sink was clogged and had weird stuff floating out of the drain. The shower floor was so stained that I didn’t want to even bathe. The toilet paper holder was hanging on for dear life. Every corner, baseboard, counter was dirty. And the prison fluorescent lightbulbs are every traveler’s dream when it comes time to relax. The only redeemer and the reason it got beyond one star is the location and view are amazing. But again the hotel does nothing to maximize this jewel of a location.

The majority of the staff were wonderful, friendly, and helpful. The location is amazing. The food was excellent. Though I think the bathroom floors need updating. Other than that, I really like this hotel. I have stayed here twice.
