Out back, spend the afternoon beside an artist-designed, hand-painted pool with a rock waterfall, the hot tub and pool casita alongside. Cook at an island with ten stools, gather by the fireplace, then take the campfire seats outside. Four bedrooms and a Moroccan-style loft. The robes are Coyuchi, the coffee is Canyon.



The Space:

As seen in Vogue and Sight Unseen, West & Wild is a spacious, peaceful hacienda in the Flamingo Heights neighborhood of Yucca Valley, with its very own Joshua tree. High ceilings and big windows let in the desert light, and the rooms are full of color and texture: a terracotta accent wall, rust and pink textiles, green tile and a sunny sectional. The home is designed for comfort and entertaining, with a gourmet kitchen, a large lounge and an artist-designed pool. Four bedrooms, three with ensuite bathrooms, including a freestanding pool casita, plus a Moroccan-style loft with four twin XL beds, make it a strong fit for larger groups and families.

-Outdoor Amenities-

Take your Canyon coffee out to the artist-designed, hand-painted pool while the yard is still quiet, then claim a lounger for the afternoon. A rock waterfall spills into the pool, and the swirling painted finish shifts color as the sun moves. The pool is not heated, but the outdoor hot tub beside the casita makes up for it in the cooler months.



Grill dinner on the propane grill and eat on the patio, then end the day around the fire pit, which has campfire-ready seating. The hacienda's very own Joshua tree stands in the yard, and at dusk it silhouettes against the desert sky.



-Living Area-

High ceilings and big windows fill the spacious living room with desert light. Sink into the comfy sectional by the fireplace beneath the chandelier, or settle in with a book while drinks catch the light on the window ledge. Up the stairs, the Moroccan-style loft has a wood ceiling, window seats with desert views and a pile of floor cushions, a second, playful hangout for the kids or a late-night conversation.



-Kitchen and Dining-

The fully equipped gourmet kitchen, with green cabinetry and open shelving, is stocked with Cafe appliances, Global cutlery and Libbey plateware and glassware, set up for both a quick snack and a meal for a crowd. The island seats 10 on bar stools, so everyone can keep the cook company. Canyon coffee is supplied for slow mornings on the patio.



-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

West & Wild has four bedrooms, including a freestanding pool casita, plus a Moroccan-style loft. Two bedrooms have queen beds, and the third bedroom and the casita each have a king bed. The loft has four twin XL beds, good for adults or a kids' sleepover. All beds have Leesa mattresses with InBed and Coyuchi linens. Each room has its own look, from rust bedding and a triangle headboard to a terracotta wall with a live-edge wood headboard, or an arched wall with a pink-and-mustard sitting area.

There are four bathrooms. Two are ensuite to the primary bedrooms, one is in the casita and one off the living room is shared. Each has a rainfall showerhead and a unique tile shower, and Coyuchi robes hang on the wall hooks, ready for the walk back from the hot tub.

West & Wild is in the heart of Flamingo Heights, close to La Copine, Moon Wind Trading Co and Giant Rock Meeting Room & Coffee House. Old Town Yucca Valley, Pappy & Harriet's in Pioneertown and Joshua Tree National Park's West Entrance are all within reach. Pappy & Harriet's has no cell service, so plan your ride home before a night out.



Guest Access:

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.



The casita is included with your stay. If you need anything, we have a property manager on call in Yucca Valley.

West & Wild is in the heart of Flamingo Heights in Yucca Valley, minutes from local restaurants and shops.

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.



Other Things to Note:

-Bathrobes-

If a bathrobe is missing when we clean after your check-out, a replacement fee will be charged.



-EV Charging-

Please note that EV charging is prohibited at the property.



-House-Specific Rules-

► If the size of your party increases or you expect any outside visitors, please let us know right away. No parties or outside noise after 10pm.

► Please rinse off before using the hot tub or pool. There is a $50 charge if the hot tub or pool becomes cloudy from use without rinsing off and needs to be drained.

► Weddings and events are by inquiry only and are subject to permits and applicable law.



-Pool Heating-

The pool is not heated. The outdoor hot tub is available year-round.



-Pool and Hot Tub Service-

The pool and hot tub are serviced Tuesdays and Fridays, approximately between 9am and 4pm. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the backyard.



-Pet Policy-

We welcome your dogs! There is a $125 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation how many dogs you are bringing. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $500. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed.

-Wildlife & Safety-

The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it's important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.



-Security Camera-

For your security, there are exterior cameras on the property, which monitor vehicles and occupancy. There are no cameras inside the home or facing any private areas, including the pool and hot tub areas.



-Cell Service-

Cell phone coverage in the area may be limited or unavailable depending on your carrier. Wi-Fi is available at the property.



-Damage Waiver Policy-

Each reservation requires either a refundable security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver.
