Summary:
At 3D in JT, innovative design meets the wide-open Yucca Valley desert. These solar-powered, 3D-printed tiny homes offer a fresh take on a Joshua Tree getaway, with minimalist interiors, mountain views, and outdoor spaces made for slowing down. Book one studio for a retreat for two, or add the second for a trip with friends. Spend your days soaking in the hot tub, enjoying the seasonal cowboy pool, and gathering around the fire beneath the desert sky.
The Space:
There's something wonderfully unexpected about stepping inside a home that was printed rather than built. The futuristic architecture gives way to a warm, thoughtfully furnished interior, where natural textures, soft neutrals, and expansive glass doors keep the focus on the landscape outside. At just 350 square feet each, the studios make clever use of their footprint, placing everything you need within easy reach while inviting you to spend as much time outdoors as in. It's an experience for travelers who appreciate interesting design, a little curiosity, and the freedom to enjoy the desert at their own pace.

-Outdoor Amenities-
The outdoor spaces make the most of the property's open desert setting. Step from your studio onto a custom deck, ease into the hot tub, or cool off in the cowboy pool on warmer days. Unlike a traditional swimming pool, the cowboy pool is a stock-tank-style plunge pool, drained and unavailable from November through March. The hot tub remains available year-round.
Between the two studios, the desert becomes a place to gather. Spend an afternoon stretched out on the outdoor sunbed, bring a meal to the picnic table, or challenge your travel companions to a game of cornhole. Yoga mats are available for anyone who prefers a quieter start to the day.
As evening approaches, settle into the Adirondack chairs around the fire pit. With Joshua trees scattered across the surrounding landscape and mountains along the horizon, it's an inviting spot to watch the colors change and linger outside after dark. The property is open to the surrounding desert and is not fully fenced.
-Living Area-
Each studio brings a clean, modern sensibility to small-space living. Generous glass doors and picture windows create a strong connection to the outdoors, while comfortable lounge chairs, warm wooden furnishings, and understated textiles give the interiors a softer, more welcoming feel.
The sitting area is ideal for reading, enjoying a quiet conversation, or simply taking in the mountain views without leaving the comfort of your room. Rather than separating daily life into multiple rooms, the thoughtful studio layout keeps the space open and easy to enjoy.
Heating and air conditioning provide year-round comfort, whether you're returning from a summer adventure or settling in on a cool desert evening.
-Kitchen and Dining-
Both studios feature their own fully stocked kitchen, making it easy to enjoy meals without having to leave the property. The crisp white cabinetry, streamlined countertops, and compact layout complement the homes' minimalist design.
Prepare a leisurely breakfast before heading out to explore Joshua Tree, or pick up ingredients for a relaxed dinner after a day in the desert. With a private patio just outside each studio and a picnic table on the grounds, you can choose between dining indoors or enjoying your meal in the fresh air.
-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-
Each studio includes one king bedroom and one private bathroom, offering comfortable accommodations for two guests. The sleeping areas follow the same understated design as the rest of the home, with inviting bedding, natural textures, and large windows that bring the desert scenery into view.
The bathrooms are bright and contemporary, with clean-lined finishes and glass-enclosed showers.
For couples traveling together or friends who prefer their own sleeping spaces, the second detached studio provides an appealing arrangement. Each building has its own entrance, kitchen, bathroom, and patio, allowing guests to spend time together outside while maintaining their own space and routines.
A standard reservation includes one studio with one king bed and one bathroom. Adding the second studio provides a total of two king beds and two bathrooms, accommodating up to four guests. Please review the booking instructions below for the additional fee and access requirements.
-3D-Printed Design-
Part of the appeal of 3D in JT is experiencing an entirely different approach to homebuilding. The studios were 3D-printed off-site and craned into position on the property, creating distinctive architectural forms that feel especially at home against the desert's open landscape.
The construction process used 60% recycled material and produced 99% less construction waste than a typical build. Solar panels support net-zero energy use, adding an environmentally conscious dimension to the experience.
There's even a 3D printer inside, a fitting detail in a property where the architecture itself is part of the adventure.
-Booking Instructions-
Please read before booking. There are two booking options:
► One studio (default): 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom. Enter 1 to 2 guests.
► Both studios: add the second studio (1 bedroom and 1 bathroom) for an additional $100 per night plus fees. Enter 4 guests.
For example, if your group has 2 people who each want their own bed, enter 4 guests. The second studio has a separate entrance with its own code, which is only sent when 4 guests are entered on the reservation. The fee is added automatically when 4 guests are listed. If you would like access to both studios after booking, please send us a message so we can adjust the reservation.
We rent to one group at a time, so the property is always private, and the other studio is never rented separately. The $100 per night fee covers the extra cleaning, utilities and wear and tear of opening the second studio.
Guest Access:
The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.
Guests have full access to Studio A and the entire outdoor property, including the decks, cowboy pool, hot tub, fire pit and patios. Studio B is only included when it is added to the reservation (see Booking Instructions); if it is not added, it stays locked and unoccupied during your stay.
